A Short Walk to Grandma's
A downloadable game for Windows
You are a young girl on her way to her grandmother's. Shouldn’t take too long, right?
Play as little red riding hood, trekking through woods, oceans, caves, dungeons, and mountains to get to grandma’s house. Watch out for strange creatures that block your way. Pick up pieces of the story to continue forward! Along the way, collect items to give to grandma like bread, wine, and jam! There are five hidden on each level, can you find them all?
This game was made for Kent State’s Multimedia and Game Design class. Almost all assets were outsourced via Creative Commons and the wonderful creators on itchio. Check them out below!
Controls:
W A S D
Press ‘F’ to shoot your bow!
Press ‘spacebar’ for jumping, including a double jump!

This was an incredible 2D Platformer Game revolving around a twist to the conventional Red Riding Hood. The design for the maps for the game and the character design of Red Riding Hood was really beautiful and I enjoyed the levels of the game where things get more difficult with the introduction to more and more new creatures and obstacles in the game. I enjoyed the parkour and a "relaxing" walk to Grandma's house.
Would be cool to see more maps or even story-telling for each level, added into the game. Moreover, Red Riding Hood's jump is kinda too overpowered as I can jump really high and cling onto random areas on the map as well so it would be good if the creators nerfed it a little.
